PRELIMINARY TASK CONTENT PAGE

First of all this is how I added margins to my magazine.                          In my preliminary task's content page I placed the word “Content” on top of the page, in blue, so that it catches attention immediately. I also added the name of my magazine "Corporate" underneath the "Contents" since I think it gives it a quality effect. As you can see in the final cover page, I haven't added any categories or sub categories but only the name of the article and a little bit description about it.  I also placed a few pictures in the shape of boxes so that the content page is no less appealing or boring to the eyes of the readers.  Furthermore with the help of the masking tool, I placed my own picture at the bottom to give some short notes to the editor.

WORKING ON THE PRELIMINARY COVER

The genre of my preliminary magazine was a business magazine and we recently started working on the cover in photoshop where we learnt adding all the components of a magazine cover including the masthead, cover photo, cover lines, date/issue, puffs and buzzwords, barcodes etc. I started off with setting the size of my magazine which is as follows. When I started advancing towards the making of my magazine cover, this is how it initially looked. I added the picture I had captured of my model for the cover and locked the layer. Then it was time for the masthead to be entered. In the previous blogs I have mentioned that I will be naming my magazine CORPORATE as it gives a simpler approach to the theme of the magazine itself. The font that I chose was a pointy font similar to what I saw in other business magazines during my primary research. This is a common convention followed in majority of the magazines of this theme that are followed.  After I had decided my masthead and lai...

PRELIMINARY TASK: LAYOUT

You might remember how I made a layout for the cover page of my magazine in the main task since its important to know how the result would look like. Similarly, I have sketched how my cover for this magazine would look like as well.  My cover lines will probably be overlapping my cover photo as it will be appropriately appealing for an attractive business magazine. Hence this is how my cove page will look like as the final product.  Not only have I designed my cover page too  but also the content page. It will contain pictures of major articles along with their page numbers.

PRELIMINARY TASK: FINAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Here is me trying to capture the perfect pose for the photography:                                         This is the picture Ive selected for my cover page :  Other pictures that I took apart from the one that I shortlisted are below :  These are the photographs Ive taken for my preliminary task and as a matter of fact, there are a number of flaws that my teacher and I identified together in these. For instance, the joints and hands should not be cut or crossed out instead the shot should be adjusted that way. However the way I captured the photos, my models hands were cut and it should've been a mid shot. To correct this i can crop the image in a way that the hands dont seem cut during my making. Since its a business magazine my subject is wearing a black and white shirt and black jeans that mainly represent a suit for business magazines. She is ...
