SHOOT DAY 2 (re-shoot)

The previous shoot I did was not satisfactory as it had a number of flaws in it. First and most of all my model looked aged and not energetic at all in those photos. My pet magazine is supposed to be appealing and for that I wanted to have an energetic pet on the cover image. Furthermore, many of my angles were not correct and fixed at all. You will get to see those pictures in my shoot analysis, and since Ive mentioned the flaws above, you will have no difficulty identifying them there.  I wanted sunlight in these photos too and it was quite favorable a thing for me that I had the benefit of broad daylight which helped me take a lot of pictures. These pictures include full shots, mid shots, and wide shots too.  Since the location was the same one as the last time, I was familiar with at which spots to capture photographs and which spots should my model be avoided to go to.  The lighting was extremely good for my shoot and my model fortunately cooperated a lot with ...

SHOOT DAY 1

I started my shoot on Sunday 13th March although as mentioned in my previous blog, I had to delay my date due to unfavorable weather conditions from Saturday 12th March to Sunday 13th March. I didn't have to go to a site or a specific decided venue because my pet i.e. my dog model was available at my own house and the shoot was done. I did move around the lawn before my shoot, to see where my model should be stationery , and in action,  before the shoot was done.  There wasn't much sunlight but enough broad daylight for a worthy shoot, and I couldn't delay more just to wait for a sunny day since my deadline wasn't much extensive. I had to capture the images real quick so that every single move and action (almost) can be caught on camera and the best one then chosen. This is important when your subject is not a human being or something whose movements you cannot control.  I did not use any props as such except the models own toys and things to make him focus and dive...

PREPARATIONS DONE

Before my shoot, all my preparations needed to be done before hand which included washing my dog, cleaning him up and putting the necessary props in front of him to engage his focus when needed.  I made sure all my pictures in the first shoot as well as in the reshoot had a specific meaning and every pictures conveys a specific story.

SCHEDULE

I didn't have to plan a complicated detailed schedule for my shoot since the model was available at my house at all times but the most important factor that needed to be considered surely affects my schedule making, i.e. lighting. I usually had classes in the morning and would be back by 3-4pm and till then, broad daylight wouldn't have been present at all for a good shoot. Instead I planned to do it on a weekend when I would start the shoot early.   -Saturday 12th March. 11am- 1pm This was the day and time I initially planned my shoot but unfortunately the weather was unfavorable and it rained too, which led me to having to delay my dates.  -Sunday 13th March I did my shoot on this day on the same timings, I had a broad daylight and the weather worked in my favor too. The shoot was done for the cover page as well as my double spread and content page.  -Thursday 18th March On this day I had to do a reshoot because my previous shoot had some flaws and was definitely ...

THE MOST AWAITED WORKSHOP

Last week we were made to attend a photography workshop that had been hanging for quite some while. The workshop was conducted by Tuba Afzal  and she along with our teacher, made us aware of many new things that we learnt.  The workshop was divided onto 2 days. In the first day of the workshop we learnt the basics of capturing pictures with a digital camera ie a DSLR. This included learning about the aperture, the ISO and the shutter speed. These 3 components are to be kept in mind whenever a picture is captured from a DSLR. We learnt other basics to like maintenance of white balance, capturing pictures under the sun and in a shady area, the science of over exposed and under exposed pictures, and we also did alot of experimenting while capturing the pictures with a different range of ISO, aperture and shutter speed.  Furthermore we also learnt how to use a reflector either with a professional reflector or a thermopol sheet as its replacement.  DAY 1: DAY 2: Wh...
